I thought for sure Christie would veto this. He knows that the Port Authority asked for an outrageous increase because they knew the people would start screaming at ANY increase. Then the PA ‘settled’ for what they got, which was what they wanted to begin with.

I have a lot of problems with that, the first is that they still are treating us like we’re all morons. They think we don’t see that they are playing the same game, over and over. I hate when these bureaucrats treat us like idiots.

Mayor Blowme and Gov Christie both knew this was happening. They act like it’s a surprise to them. Blowme and Christie EACH get to appoint SIX members to the board. They’re not elected, they’re appointed so BOTH of these bums knew what was happening. And EITHER one could have vetoed it.

They BOTH also know of the corruption in salaries that has been going on for decades where union workers have been making 3 and 4 times their salaries in the few years before they retire so they can get a pension more than their regular working salary. SO when they retire, they will get the same money they always made and YOU will pay for it for the rest of their lives.

This problem gets in the newspapers maybe once every couple of years and then disappears after a few days. It is then forgotten about and nothing is done. Back to business as usual.

Don’t let Christie fool you, he’s just another politician who only cares about himself. He doesn’t give a shit about you, people.

I came across a site that shows the salary of EVERY NYC and NYS salary, including the YTD of each one. While looking at it, I noticed that 3 of the top FIVE highest salaries were not executives, but were regular workers. I thought it strange and checked further. These guys had base salaries of around 75,000 a year, and their total for the year was over 270 THOUSAND dollars.

More checking revealed that these workers were putting in tons of overtime in their last few years so they could retire at something like 2 and 3 times what they’re getting when they worked every day. It seems that this is common practice in many MTA, Port Authority. LIRR and many other agencies.

This is the reason we can’t keep up with them people. This is why they keeping raising tolls and fares. The have to in order to keep up with the pensions and health benefits of the unions and retired workers. They abuse the job with huge pensions,health benefits and other perks and we’re going broke. When they raise the tolls and fares, they can’t get enough money to make repairs or new things because the money is going to the unions.
